God is an Artist
EPHESIANS 2:10 WEYMOUTH
10 For we are God's own handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for
good works which He has pre-destined us to practise.
Look around. See for yourself. God is an artist extraordinaire!
When we gaze at a beautiful sunset, or look at the infinitely
varied forms of life we find surrounding us, and realize that
God designed it all, it is easy to be impressed. God is an
artist. The most brilliant, creative artist ever to exist.
But when we look at our own lives and consider what God is
doing there, we tend to forget that God is an artist. He is
making something beautiful out of you and your life. You may
not see the beauty now -- you may not even see any design or
evidence that God is working -- but you will recognize it
someday.
God's intention for you is to be much more beautiful and
glorious than a sunset or a school of multi-colored fish. And
you will be! God will not fail.
"Wait a minute, preacher. I can see plenty of people that God
has failed on. They are anything but "beautiful and glorious"
-- inwardly or outwardly."
Yes... today. But God is not finished. Many great works of art
take a long time. Don't judge too soon!
SAY THIS: God is an artist and He is working on me. Go ahead,
God. Let's see what you can do. I am happy to be a canvas for
Jesus, the great creator, to work on.

Beginnings

Nothing can explain placing fibers in your hand and encasing a piece of your art glass in the fibers, wetting it, soaping it and rubbing it....You lose your place in the present and you fall back to a time when all the rubbing brought needed shelter and warmth. Now all the rubbing just creates art. This piece of wool and glass in your hand is alive. It wants to be manipulated and the softer the touch, the more it responds. You totally encase the glass until it disappears in a mat of fiber. You then cut to the heart of the glass, revealing its beauty and at the same time protecting it with the fiber. I am so intrigued.....

The Purpose of Life

The Purpose Of Life excerpt from our Daily Devotion which Tom and I read each morning...An enpowering way to start the day
God created mankind primarily because He desired to have a
family. In order to truly fellowship with God, man had to have
freedom of choice. Unfortunately, man used his freedom to rebel
against God and fell from fellowship with God.
When man fell he came under the dominion of the devil, because
he followed the devil's suggestion to disobey God. With this
came spiritual death and a new nature which was selfish. Man
became self-centered -- actually worshiping himself by making
every decision based on what was best for him. The result of
this selfishness is evident all around us: horrible misery and
suffering.
God is just and obeys His own laws. Justice requires that
rebellion be punished. To be just, yet allow mankind to come
back into fellowship with Him, God Himself came to earth as the
man Jesus Christ. He suffered a horrible death as the
substitute for all mankind, taking the punishment we deserved
for our sins. Because of what Jesus did, God could justly
forgive all sin, and open a way for all people to come back
into fellowship with God.
Jesus Christ Himself is the only way to God. Only by receiving
Jesus can we enjoy the benefits of His sacrifice, which sets us
free from sin and its judgment.
Our life on earth now is testing and preparation for eternity,
to determine if we qualify to be in God's family. This is not
determined by human beauty or achievement, but by our
willingness to submit to the lordship of Jesus Christ. When we
submit to Jesus, He begins changing us into what He wants us to
be.
When you come to Jesus, He changes you inwardly. As you
continue following Jesus and obeying His Word, your inward
change will continue manifesting outwardly, causing people and
circumstances around you to change also. God will continue
working in and through you until you become like Jesus Christ
in your thoughts and actions, as well as your nature.

Living a Fruitful Life
In this world we are surrounded by family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers who expect us to be what they need and want at whatever particular moment they come in contact with us. When their expectations are met , through God's grace, everyone benefits.

Feeling Good

Daily I am assaulted with "feel good" remedies from lots of "people" who feel they have the answer to "feeling good"
It took time for me to understand that for me to "feel good" I had to ask for it from God through accepting Jesus Christ by which I gained eternal life.
The concept is so unbelievably easy that it can not be possibly so. But, in reality, it is not easy. It takes laying down my free will and accepting and not questioning God's will.
That is hard since I believed I knew what was best for me. But, knowing that I am on the path, not there by a long shot, but on the path, one step at a time makes me feel real good

ENTHUSIASM
"Enthusiasm is the greatest asset in the
world. It beats money and power and
influence. It is no more or less
than faith in action."

A Woman's Touch
I hate dirt and I really, really hate MUD!!! I do not want footprints of clay-like material trekking across my floors.
Take soil with lots of clay in it, Oregon rain, Men who tromp and what do you have........MUD....
Now I understand construction requires playing in the MUD. But I have never understood why it is necessary to tromp it all over the place. Could we not have clean shoes and dirty shoes??? Seems possible to me.
So....we are creating a 160 foot baby trench 14" deep for a water line going around the perimeter of the new building. We are high-Tech and using a digging-trenching machine......It moves very slow, in fact slow enough to complete a manicure while you are waiting for it to move. So.....do we stand there at the mercy of the machine, waiting for it to do it's thing or do we attend to necessary matters while we wait???
Women have always been good at multi-tasking....

Serenity
The Original Serenity Prayer
- Author Unknown (Shortened version often credited to Reinhold Niebuhr)
God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.

Celebrating Independence Day
Independence is the freedom to pick and choose what makes me happy.
Independence is not being leashed to a cell phone.
Independence is having confidence in my decisions.
Independence is acknowledging that my bliss comes from accepting my Lord's plan for my life.
Independence is turning the TV off.
Independence is honoring my beliefs.
Independence is seeing beyond my circle.
Independence is casting off worldly views.
Independence is not listening to the solicitors of the world that bombard you with what you need, what you should have, how to have more, how to get something for nothing.
Independence is not listening to the weather report. The weatherman never brings good news. It's either too hot, too cold, no rain, too much rain, no wind, too much wind....What happened to the thankfulness for whatever the weather is.....
Independence is not doing what I dont want to do instead of doing it and then complaining about it...
Simple revelation....either do it because I want too and enjoy it or dont do it.....It's so easy....STAND UP....TAKE CHARGE OF MY INDEPEDENCE....BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE WAY I FEEL cause it's no one else's responsibility but mine.
I had a wonderful fourth of july holiday doing exactly what I wanted to do and I hope you did too....

I am so happy to know you Lord...Thank you for your son and for the gift of eternal life
Ten Spiritual Tonics
1. Stop worrying. Worry kills life
2. Begin each day with a prayer. It will arm your soul.
3. Control appetite. Over-indulgence clogs body and mind.
4. Accept your limitations . . .
5. Don't envy. It wastes time and energy.
6. Have faith in people. Cynicism sours the disposition.
7. Find a hobby. It will relax your nerves.
8. Read a book a week to stimulate imagination and broaden your views.
9. Spend some time alone for the peace of solitude and silence.
10. Try to want what you have, instead of spending your strength trying to get
what you want. Abraham Feinberg

ROSEE SAYS "LAUGH OFTEN" MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE
Riez Souvent......laugh often.....you end up with happy wrinkles.....just like the french version of Rosie the wildwoman....ROSEE....
Original art drawn on a transparency and then collaged with so many things I cant begin to tell you what is in the collage. I know I just like it. The paper, the glass beads, the cobweb effect, the setting recessed in a black and silver picture frame that was made into a shadowbox....ROSEE definitely has a story to tell. Almost 60, 16 more days, a little worn, some wrinkles but they are happy wrinkles....ROSEE is ready to live the last third of her life boldly and brightly, color everywhere..... Rosie the wildwoman
