The ARt of doing business.....or something like that!

I'm 63....I've earned a living by working since I was 16.  I have always loved what I have done, some jobs more than others.  Nothing can compare to my "job" now....Never have I felt more like I now have something to share, not just my art but the creator who gives me breath to do it and to share it and to share his word and his grace and his comfort and his joy along with it!!!!! Rosiewildwoman Art to Wear....

Below is a devotional I get each day from http://www.adevotion.org.....Every day it is good and relevant, today more than most.....

Do Business For God

LUKE 19:13,15 ESV
13 Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten minas, and
said to them, 'Engage in business until I come.'
15 When he returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered
these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to
him, that he might know what they had gained by doing business.

Your working life is supposed to be for more than just meeting
your needs. Your work is an avenue God can use to bless people
in many ways. You should use all that you have been given: your
influence, your contacts, your profits, to bless people and
turn them toward God.

Many people won't listen to a pastor or TV preacher, but they
will listen to someone they know and contact in daily life.

You don't have to be a pastor or a priest to walk with God and
be used by Him. Think of Abraham, David, Moses, and Daniel. Not
one of them was a preacher or a priest. Instead, they were all
involved in agriculture or government, what we consider as
secular jobs. Yet they are among the most famous and revered of
Bible characters.

Also we should keep in mind that Jesus of Nazareth spent most
of His years on earth as a carpenter -- a businessman -- not a
preacher.

COLOSSIANS 3:23 NLT
23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were
working for the Lord rather than for people.

You can see God move just as much in the work place as at a
church meeting. God is interested in blessing people right
where they are.

Where you work and spend your time is your "world." God does
not expect or ask most people to win some other country for
Him. God expects you to be a witness right where you are. Be a
witness of God's blessing and goodness and love. You don't have
to force your beliefs on people, but let your associates and
customers and suppliers and co-workers see God's blessing in
your life, and as you have opportunity let them know it is
because of God's grace and goodness -- which is also available
for them.

SAY THIS: I will bloom where I am planted and faithfully use
what God has given me for His glory and the growth of His
kingdom.

Art Yarn Meets Rosiewildwoman

I am learning to spin and what I want to spin is big, chunky, textured yarn.  Then I want to use that yarn to embellish my hats, pins, jewelry and anything else I can get my hands on.  So that is what I am doing and I am liking it!  The hat is comprised of scrap material from another project sewn together and then embellished......

Serenity

This face SHOUTS serenity, peace and joy.... I am loving faces.......

The Original Serenity Prayer

- Author Unknown (Shortened version often credited to Reinhold Niebuhr)

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen.

Independence is NOT bondage

Wearable art neck piece.  A serene woman mentally breaking bondage and gaining independence.  The clay face was created and then enhanced with alcohol inks and pinata inks, covered with diamond glaze and then resin and placed on a hand cut, hand colored aluminum base wire wrapped (bursting through the wires-bondage).
Earrings are light-light hand cut aluminum colored with inks and resin and wire wrapped.

CREATING ART IS MORE THAN TECHNIQUE

I was surfing Amazon this morning for a dvd father's day present and to get my free shipping I went to my wish list of art books........I came across this review from a person in Florida....

"I am a jeweler who does art shows and galleries. I collect a lot of jewelry books as they give me new ideas and different techniques to do things. This is single handedly the worst jewelry book I have ever read. The author is/was orginally a fiber person. It's obvious since her metalsmithing techniques are so poor. I'm all for using short cuts, but she never recommends a rawhide mallet to flatten metal and uses a hole punch to make holes in the metal. YIKES! The finished projects are on par with any elementary school art show."

It wears me out to read "puffed up" stuff like this but it will never stop me from CREATING art.. I am so happy I believe that creating is so much more important than technique and that bringing forth "art from the heart" is a joy.   It's fine to be perfect in technique but this type of attitude is what stops a lot of people from finding their creative side.....Do NOT be daunted by these comments.......Go forth and CREATE ART!!!!!!!!

ZENTANGLE BANGLE BRACELETS

Color and I....we have an affair....and then repetitive motions in a non-repetitive style seem to be part of me....That's why I was so attracted to Zentangles (anything is possible....one stroke at a time)  repetitive strokes creating awesome pictures....

being the Wildwoman that I am, it just became apparent to try a form of zentangle on these foam pieces.....Now you might ask...where did these foam pieces come from????

they are actually cut off of the children's foam door hangers. The bottom that I cut off is used to make rubber stamps from objects.  You might ask...how do you do that?  heat the foam, impress the object, dont breath while doing it and be in a well ventilated area.

The Finished Bits-N-Pieces Wildwoman Neckware

Little bits of fabric, wire, fiber
the discs were actually separate necklaces I had created and placed on individual chains. I sold a few
but then I just get tired of looking at them or I'm bored or I have been inspired looking at people's work or I read a book, but when the mood strikes.......don't ignore it...create with abandon.....

ROSEE SAYS "LAUGH OFTEN" MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE

Riez Souvent......laugh often.....you end up with happy wrinkles.....just like the french version of Rosie the wildwoman....ROSEE....
Original art drawn on a transparency and then collaged with so many things I cant begin to tell you what is in the collage. I know I just like it. The paper, the glass beads, the cobweb effect, the setting recessed in a black and silver picture frame that was made into a shadowbox....ROSEE definitely has a story to tell. Almost 60, 16 more days, a little worn, some wrinkles but they are happy wrinkles....ROSEE is ready to live the last third of her life boldly and brightly, color everywhere..... Rosie the wildwoman

Obsessed with needle felting

Wow.....I have finally found a medium that I can work with at any time, pick it up, lay it down, show customers, take out my aggressions by repeatedly stabbing a sharp barbed needle into colorful wool and every once in a while being brought back to reality when I stab myself. This is a hat I have been working on. I've felted Wild Woman, on the hat, some flowers, a face It is a work in progress and I will probably add some more to it.....

"Life in a Petri Dish" Art Glass Pendants

I just cant get away from color and it can be bold or soft and muted. These art glass pendants are created with Bullseye Glass and frit held in place with liquid stringer. The design is on both sides of the glass . This seems to be an emerging characteristic of mine where I just cant leave the back of the piece alone whether it be with design or texture it just has to BE something.
